It's "called underwear for a reason"

The Port Allen, La. city council has joined a bunch of other towns throughout the country banning baggy pants. It's the eighth Louisiana municipality to pass such an ordinance.

The council passed the ordinance on Monday, creating a $25 to $250 fine for a first offense and a $250 to $500 fine for subsequent offenses.

From the AP:
Councilmember Hugh Riviere said he didn't want to view other people's
undergarments, saying it "is called underwear for a reason.''

Another councilmember said she voted for the ordinance because many of her constituents believe baggy pants are a fashion faux pas.

It's always nice to see local governments focusing on what's really important.
