What's this 'competence' you speak of?

I was interviewing Linda Stender yesterday and we were talking about why she decided to run for Congress in the first place, and in the midst of a pretty standard rant about Bush, she said the following:

"The president has finally realized that he's got a problem on his hands, and that's long overdue. There's no accountability; there was no demand for -- competence."

I liked that. It didn't fit in the context of my story, but I liked it.
